Love Inheritance

“The best inheritance a parent can give to his children is a few minutes of their time each day.”
M. Grundler
I have been immensely blessed in my role as a wife and mother. When I think of the most important ways that we share our love with one another as a family- time is precious commodity that I freely give, hoping to enrich the lives of my children and husband.
My faithful gliding rocking chair was purchased when I was about 8 months pregnant with our oldest EBoy. For the first year of his life it where we spent countless hours since rocking and singing to him was the quickest way to get him to sleep. Now 6 and a half years later he still asks me just to take a few minutes out in the morning to hold him and rock him in the rocking chair. Even though his long limbs can just barely fit into the chair with me and my evergrowing baby belly he still wraps his arms around me tight just like he did when he was my little baby.
ETot and I spend countless hours hiding under a blanket together and peeking out to surprise pretend “monsters”. This game has yet to get old to him, and getting to hear him laugh uncontrollably as he tries to throw the blanket back over our heads makes it well worth every precious minute.
If money were no object EDad and I would travel and spend time together. Some of my fondest memories during our newlywed year are our many road trips. Living in Seattle we had quick access to the mountains, quaint bed and breakfast spots, and short weekend adventures in Canada. We’d pack up some snacks and various little getting to know you books and have long conversations about all aspects of life. If to know someone is to love them- EDad honestly knows me better than I even know myself at times.
I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to share my life with such a wonderful family and I can’t wait to see how much more love is added to the equation with our new little one on the way. This post was inspired by the Parent Bloggers Network and the InsureYourLove Selfless Love Contest.

Beautiful! What lucky kiddos they are!
And I’ve been remiss in not coming to say happy birthday to Etot! I thought of you guys on the 23rd. Hope it was a happy birthday!
